Winfred Harold “Buck” Prince, 78, of Springville died Saturday morning at the University of Louisville Hospital from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.  Born July 12, 1932 in Smithville, Indiana, he was the son of Emery Prince and step mother Maude, and mother May Morron and step father Bracie. Buck was a united States Army veteran, serving during the Korean War. He spent his professional career as a crane operator in limestone mills including Indiana Limestone, Woolery’s and Independent Limestone. He retired from Independent Limestone in 1993. He was a member of the Eagles Local 1085, the VFW Post 9107, and was a member of the Laborers Union 741 for 50 years. Throughout his life Buck was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed time hunting, fishing. He also enjoyed a wide variety of other sports especially NASCAR. Buck leaves behind his companion Gladys Blake; two sons, Rick Prince and his wife Lori of Bloomington, and Kenny Prince and his wife Polly of Heltonville; two daughters, Dana Prince and her husband Tim, and Lisa Connolly and her husband Tim, all of Heltonville; grandchildren Kelli Prince-Tiller, Stacey Martinez, Brandi Prince, Mandie Tolliver, Jason Prince, Robert Heath Prince and his wife Dr. Ashley Armstrong, Heather Joseph and her husband Scott, Heidi Prince and Justin Chambers; great grandchildren, Brecken, Matthew, Kylee, Naomi, Luke, Cory and Lillianna. Buck is also survived by two brothers, John Prince and Jerry Joe Morron, and four sisters, Phyllis Birchler, Sharon Norman, Nancy Robertson, and Kathy Evans. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers,Richard Prince, Lyual Morron and Marshall Morron, as well as three sisters Maxine Arthur, Roberta Morron, and Rose Marie Prince. Funeral services for Buck will be conducted on Wednesday March 23, 2011 at 11:00AM at Allen Funeral Home 4155 South Old Highway 37. Visitation will be held Tuesday March 22, 2011 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM, also at Allen Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Buck’s memory to the White River Humane Society and online condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenfuneralhome.org.
